Thank you very much. This was my first time on your site and I found exactly what I was looking for within a few minutes. The Internet is amazing but wouldn't work at all if it weren't for people like you.

Jason M.

jammmison67@yahoo.com

I have tried recovery several times before,
always hiding my continued alcoholism from my sponsor and family - until either being
"called out" by one of them or getting to the point (bottom) where the pain of drinking became greater than the pain I was holding onto. Then 2 1/2 years ago - while in yet another treatment center - I met the man who became my sponsor and changed everything I thought, felt saw & heard not only about AA, but about myself. Long story short is he said 6 words that changed it all : TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE.
Somehow those 6 words made everything that followed after so much easier, clearer and meaningful.
Honesty, pure and simple.
Today I have been sober just over 27 months.
Never forgetting my Higher Power, AA, The 12 Steps, meetings, great sponsorship and of course those 6 words which gave me the beginning of H. O. W.
That great man is no longer with us he passed 2 years ago, but I hear him everyday still guiding me and I in turn give it away to my sponcees.
Thank you for letting me get this out.
Jason M.

A wonderful resource . . . thanks very much . . . Now, how about the 12 & 12 ? (Isn't that a perfect AA comment . . . ?)

I thought the word "sponsorship" was in the main text somewhere, but the search engine tells me I'm wrong.

And yet I'm not convinced . . .

Thanks again. Keep up the good work.

This is the first time I have visited this site! I am a recovering alcoholic/ex-addict, and I loved The Simple Approach to the 12 Steps, and I'm going to tell some more people about this in recovery.

Tradition 3 says we need to have a desire to stop drinking. With that desire, working the program of AA to the best of my ability, good sponsorship, working with others, service work, a Home Group, A God of my own understanding and attending AA meetings on a regular basis I have not only been able to maintain my sobriety but to also grow in my life. Maybe I'm not what I should be, maybe I'm not what I want to be but Thank God I'm not what I used to be. Steve K. 4-3-79

But for the grace of God, I am sober today.

Abandon yourself to God as you understand God. Admit your faults to Him and to your fellows. Clear away the wreckage of your past. Give freely of what you find and join us. We shall be with you in the Fellowship of the Spirit, and you will surely meet some of us as you trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.
May God bless you and keep you - until then.

I see that you have 2307 days today. Congratulations. Today I celebrate 9321 days of continuous sobriety. I am curious as to why you are using the name "Alcoholics Anonymous" and then allying your web site to outside entities. To a new prospect or one with not as many days as you, it may look as though you are promoting or at the least attaching AA's name to these other "links" you have on your site. Just a thought to consider.
Your's in sobriety.

The "first 164 pages" are basically the same, and the copyright on the second edition was lost in the USA. So no. I do not plan on breaking any laws with is what would happen if I updated it to the 3rd or 4th edition.
