Spell Checker For Internet Explorer

Links

If you are link me and can not speel, and everytime you use a forum or a form of any kind on a web page, you find yourself copying and pasting the text into Word to check the spelling. Weel, if you use Internet Explorer and have Microsoft Word (or Works), your copying and pasting days are over.

Please be aware you need to be tech savvy to do this but I made a self installing exe that will install four files into your Internet Explorer folder. The path to this is: [Drive Letter]:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\. The four files are: READ-ME.txt, Scroll.ico, Skull&Crossbones.ico, and SpellCheck.js.

Just click here to download your set of files and they will auto install into the Internet Explorer folder. Just click on the file SpellChecker.exe after you download it.

Then you will need to open Internet Explorer, and the Internet Explorer folder, both half window size, so you can right click and drag the SpellCheck.js file and drop it onto the links toolbar on Internet Explorer. Right click on it to rename it, then right click on it to select properties, then change icon, if you feel so inclined. It will most likely open to the default SHELL32.dll, but you can browse to any icon of your choice, if you wish to use one of the two that I have included, browser to the \Program Files\Internet Explorer\ folder and you will find the two icons mentioned above. Select one by clicking on it and then ok, then apply.

Also Please note that in XP you may need to click change all when you do the spell check. It works but there sometimes seems to be a bug, but you can make it work by doing the above.
