This program is for Windows systems only, and even though it will work in Win XP there is no need as XP has finally done what this program does for Win 2K, Win 95, Win 98, and Win ME. If you use a picture for your desktop background, the background of your icon text will take the color of what you have it set in "Appearance" under "Display Properties" for the background color. This program Removes that color and allows your picture to show through the text, hence the name Transparent Icons. After you run the installation program, and reboot your system the program places an icon of a traffic light in your system tray and hardly uses any system resources as it is a Visual Basic Program. You can at any time double click on the icon to bring up a menu to check to see how the transparency works, send the program back to the system tray, or turn it off, if you feel so inclined (be sure to turn off the program BEFORE you try to uninstall it!).
Once again I must place this disclaimer that I can not be responsible for it's use in your system. Windows is configured so that each program actually makes your operating system unique and different from any other Windows System. Since I can not test each and every computer for you, I can tell you that I have written this program for myself, and have given it to friends and tested it on all the systems mentioned above, and I have experienced no problems.
If, for some unforeseen reason you do have a problem with the program, you can always just uninstall from your add/remove applet in your Windows system.
